Salem Health Foundation was established in 1968 by Salem citizens interested in supporting Salem Health Hospital and Clinics. Its mission is to provide exemplary health care to the citizens of the Mid-Willamette Valley. The Foundation's 15 volunteer Directors help raise funds and manage the resources of the Foundation while distributing the funds according to the wishes of the donor. Their high impact non-profit activities range from providing direct financial assistance to patients in need, funding of education programs, and the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Support of The Salem Health Foundation Has Enabled:
Creation of a Community Health Education Center on the hospital campus.
Grants to patients needing financial assistance with insurance co-pays.
Scholarships to students pursuing medical or medically related careers.
Funded construction of the Let's All Play Place community therapy playground.
Assisted families needing car seats.
On-site assistance to Emergency Department staff with crisis support and stress management counseling.
