RELIEF IN THE FACE OF EMERGENCY
Since its founding in 1881, the Red Cross has been globally preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies. In our region The Cascade Chapter reaches 42 counties and 4.7 million people. Their work has a profound impact on individuals and families in need.
Did you know that Cascade Chapter volunteers provide urgently needed resources to all displaced families of home fires? Their extraordinary service doesn't stop there. Last year our local organization:
Collected and distributed 182,150 units of blood.
Assisted 3,688 individuals impacted by disasters.
Provided housing for 1650 overnight stays.
Coordinated the work of 2500 volunteers.
Provided emergency communications and liaison support to military families.
Conducted CPR and first aid training
The Red Cross life-saving mission is accomplished by mobilizing volunteer's power and donor's generosity. An average of 90 cents of every dollar the American Red Cross spends is invested in delivering care to those in need.
