Founded in Salem in 1997, Family Building Blocks is a certified Relief Nursery whose mission is to keep children safe and families together. They are the only organization of its kind in our community, providing the most intensive, specialized prevention services at no cost to families who are facing overwhelming life circumstances. Family Building Blocks annually assists over 800 families and 1200 children in Marion and Polk Counties.
This special non-profit organization offers a variety of therapeutic early childhood services. In addition to their Certified Relief Nursery, other programs include Healthy Families home visiting services, Early Head Start serving families with children under three, and Family Mental Health Services.

A Food Pantry that provides emergency food boxes via partnering with Marion-Polk County Food Share
The Clothing Closet offers quality and gently used clothing.
Community Referrals where parents are connected with resources such as medical and dental programs, housing assistance, child care, drug abuse counseling and domestic violence programs.
